To describe south korea one word: otherwordly. I lived in South Korea for two years as an English teacher, immersing myself in the culture, customs, fashion, and music scene. I can confidently say that this is the most female-friendly country I've ever known.

  • Lots of Insight, Covers Many Topics, Words of Affirmation

    This book came to me at the right time. About to start a solo year long trip to South Korea and the words of affirmation scattered along the various chapters ("You won't regret taking this trip." "Don't hesitate. Just go." "Anyone who expresses doubt about this trip is doubting their own ability to travel, not yours.") These are all things I really needed to hear. Combined with positive and realistic portrayals of all of the fun things available to do in South Korea, it helped clear up a lot of my anxiety about going.

    Awesome book. Highly recommended. I just wish I found this sooner before my solo S. Korea sojourn in November 2019. I could have enjoyed my travel much much more. This book is very informative and is easy reading. It is hard to put the book down. This is a keeper. I plan to go back to S.Korea when it is safe enough to travel. By then, I would have memorized majority of the information this book offers but will still bring it with me for the addresses it gives on places to visit.

    For every question I ever had about traveling to South Korea there was an answer. I’m so happy to know there is a comprehensive guide for us females out there.
